Aquatics and Safety offers swim lessons for babies age 6 months through adults. Certification classes are also offered such as lifeguard training and water safety assistant training.
4 Session Private, Semi-Private, or Adapted Swim LessonsPrivate or Semi-Private Lessons: This class is designed to aid those who need extra help passing a level or working on a specific skill. More individualized attention will be given to specific areas of need. All lessons are private lessons unless two registrations are submitted together and indicate a semi-private preference. It is recommended the students in the semi-private lessons are of a similar skill level. Ratios: Private = 1:1, Semi-Private = 1:2Adapted Lessons: This class is for students age 18 months through adult with mild special needs, including neurological, developmental, and cognitive, who will benefit from one on one instruction. Instructor will work with the parent/guardian to determine student goals that will meet a variety of sensory challenges including visual, auditory, physical and movement, all while learning swimming skills. Water Safety Aide (WSA)A great class for students ages 13 and up who love water and children and are seeking employment as an assistant swim instructor. Students that complete this course will be qualified to apply for employment at the age of 14. You will get hands-on experience during the class. First aid and CPR are not included. *Completion of this class does not guarantee employment with ISD #194.
