Lakeville Community Education is excited to partner with local dance instructors to offer Bharatanatyam and Kathak classical dance courses for all ages.
These ancient classical dance forms come from India, and are known for their detailed hand gestures, called mudras, disciplined footwork and facial expressions. Bharatanatyam & Kathak Dances will encourage students to work on focus, self development, positivity and confidence.
These two dance forms are derived from spiritual practices, but are being taught only as cultural and classical dance art form through this program. These classes are open to all students in the community, and all are welcome to join!

Kathak Dance
Join Katha Dance Theatre (KDT) to learn non-verbal communication through the classical storytelling dance of India, Kathak. Using graceful movements, meaningful hand gestures, facial expressions, intricate footwork, multiple spins, and music, students will learn how to tell a story! The goal is to provide participants with a new and enjoyable experience that enables them to be creative, physically active, and exposed to a new culture in a comfortable and supportive environment.
