Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) / Additional ECFE Options -
2024 Fall & Yearlong

Ages: 2-5 years

Parent and child will separate for part of this class.

Explore activities and routines that promote pre-reading, writing and math skills and concepts in an early childhood classroom environment that promotes peer interactions. Children will participate in a variety of learning experiences. Parents will gain knowledge and support from a licensed parent educator and other parents during discussion time. All ECFE classes are taught by a licensed early childhood teacher and/or a licensed parent educator.

Nikki Arness

Parent and Early childhood

Nikki Arness is a licensed Parent Educator with an M. Ed. in Family Education from the University of Minnesota. She fell in love with ECFE during her 7 years as a participant and feels privileged to support families as a parent educator. Nikki has taught in early childhood classrooms for the past 5 years and served on the ECFE Advisory Council. She lives in Apple Valley with her husband, 2 daughters, and 2 cats. Nikki enjoys spending time in nature, singing, going to the theater, and traveling.


Juliann Berg

Early Childhood Educator

Julie is a licensed Early Childhood and Parent Educator with a masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary’s University. She has been working with families and children in the Lakeville Area School District since 1994. She enjoys working in ECFE. Her husband Peter and their children Sam, Lauren and cat, Jazzy live in Lakeville. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the cabin, crafting and cheering on the Vikings.
