    Welcome to Community Education Aquatics The Community Education Aquatics and Safety program provides a wide range of swimming opportunities in the areas of instruction, recreation, fitness and safety certifications for infant through adult students in the Lakeville area and beyond. Our program offers year-round instruction to give you or your child a great experience in the water. Our American Red Cross (ARC) trained instructors typically teach throughout the year, so you can count on seeing the same high-quality instructor at each lesson and session.   • Babysitting 101

    Age 10 1/2-15 Gain the skills and confidence to be a great babysitter. This course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting video, role plays and lively discussions. It teaches young people how to: Care for children and infants Handle emergencies Communicate effectively with parents Make good decisions, solve problems and stay safe Bring a peanut free snack and water to class.
  • Jr. NBA Basketball Tykes

    DASH Sports Basketball Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the great game of basketball through fun skill-based drills and mini-games. Players will be taught how to properly dribble, pass, shoot, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle & wear athletic clothing & shoes. Balls are provided. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group.
  • Dash Tykes Soccer

    DASH Sports soccer Tykes camps provide players with an introductory experience to the game of soccer. Key elements of dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught and practiced. Fun, skill-based games will be played to practice newly learned skills. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group. Athletes should bring a water bottle and wear athletic clothing & shoes (spikes and shin guards optional). Soccer balls are provided.
  • Resilience Martial Arts Youth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - Junior Grapplers

    Junior Grapplers | Ages 7-12 Gracie Bullyproof Programs: Instill nonviolent responses to bullying in your children by learning self-defense techniques perfected by Gracie Jiu Jitsu and upholding the six pillars of character development (Responsibility, Respect, Health, Manners, Citizenship, and Caring). We believe that fire is best fought with water, not more fire. We will prepare your child to defend themselves against bullies without turning them into one. This class helps build confidence and character to know how to react when confronted with adversity. Play fun games with some technicality to learn the basic standing and ground control techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and role play with your classmates to feel confident in effectively defusing challenging or unwanted situations. *Required equipment: T-shirt or athletic wear to be worn under Gi. No jeans. New Gi and belt will be provided during the program. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Resilience Martial Arts is located within Juniper Commons in Lakeville.   • DASH Tykes Track & Field

    DASH Sports Track & Field Tykes camps provide participants with a basic introduction to Track & Field events. Participants will learn and practice how to correctly run, jump, and throw. Emphasis is on technique and proper form. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic ability & performance. Parent participation is required for the 2-3yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group. Campers should bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes.
  • Home Alone

    Ages 8-10 Learn information to make sure you're comfortable and safe when staying home alone, whether for five minutes or a couple of hours. Does your child know what to do in case of a fire? If there is a stranger at the door? How to use the Internet safely? If they get hungry and want a snack? Our Home Alone class will provide many necessary tools so your child is well-equipped to stay home without an adult. Kids will make first aid kits and learn about fire escape routes, first aid, kitchen safety, boredom busters & more. Bring a water bottle and a peanut free snack.
  • Make Money Pet Sitting - Online Course

    This is a LIVE online course that will be held at the date/time listed. Participants must provide an email to receive the class log-in information. Please contact Amanda with questions (amanda.cambronne@isd194.org). Do you love animals, especially dogs? Learn how to make extra money by watching dogs or other pets! Learn about feeding, watering, and exercising pets. Our class will include how to make a good impression, what questions to ask when interviewing for a pet sitting job, and what to do when a dog has behavioral issues. You will also discover other services you can offer such as dog walking, grooming and puppy training. This class is taught by a seasoned professional pet sitter and a longtime entrepreneur.
  • YEL! Project Runway

    Grades 4-8 Sweet summer projects! A comfy shorts, a water bottle bag, criss-cross headband and more. No experience necessary. Students will make, showcase, and take home all their projects. Hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind. The final day is a showcase where friends and family are invited to see the projects in action. This is a “Pay Later” course! That means, you can register for this class and reserve your spot without paying today. Approximately one week before class (as indicated upon registration) the class will automatically be charged to your saved payment method, unless the class cancels.   • Glow in the Dark Engineering

    Grades 1-4 Illuminate the light this summer with awesome STEAM projects. Have fun as we explore glow in the dark pigments and learn the difference between fluorescent vs luminescent. We’ll also use LED lights to create a handy flashlight, light up under water sea monsters, engineer a cool night lamp, and more! Full of fun STEM and art projects (STEAM). Take home a light-up project every day! This is a “Pay Later” course! That means, you can register for this class and reserve your spot without paying today.     Ages 13+ Kickstart your fighting spirit! Whether your goal is to lose weight or learn a very effective self-defense art, Muay Thai is regarded as the science of 8 limbs utilizing punches, kicks, elbows and knees for a full body workout. We are a United World Muay Thai Association registered gym; Remember, Muay Thai fighters respect all, but fear none! *Required equipment: Loaner gloves will be provided, but you can bring your own if you have them.     Ages 18+ Swim laps at your own pace. Equipment is available for use including kickboards, pull buoys and fins. Pool water temperature is 80-82 degrees. Locker rooms and showers are available. There is no ramp or stairs at the CMS Pool, however, there is a lift, if needed to get into and out of the pool. Please notify katey.radant@isd194.org in advance if you will need to use the lift. Mondays & Wednesdays, July 8-24, 6:15-7:15 pm 6 classes total, 3 on Mondays, 3 on Wednesdays All classes are held at the Blanchard Aquatic Center at Century Middle School.     SUN-SATIONAL SUMMER FUN AT SMALL WONDERS! Camp Small Wonders is a summer school program filled with a variety of themes and adventures that will fill your summer full of memories. Come discover the “fun” in learning. Summer classes are held at the Crystal Lake Education Center 16250 Ipava Ave. Lakeville and are for preschool children ages 3-6 who can toilet independently. Mark your calendars. We will contact you if a class is full, canceled or changed. Refunds are unavailable unless the class is cancelled. For more program information call 952-232-3001. Sports Camp Get ready to move your body and have fun in the sun as we learn to listen, cooperate and take turns at Sports Camp! Together, we will catch, throw and hit balls, kick soccer balls, shoot basketballs and explore the basics of some of our favorite team sports and active games. We’ll focus on how to be a teammate that encourages others and cheers for our peers. If skills feel challenging, we will learn that it is important to keep trying and give our best while we learn something new.
